Baby Girl #2 and our New Place!

Its a Girl!!!
Here she is stretching her little neck back. Sydney did that a lot too I noticed in her ultrasounds.

Aaand we are moving into a new place!
We got the approval today!

So at the beginning of the Summer, we moved in with my parents because we were not sure where we would end up having work. Turns out Gabe found work for the Summer here in Concord and his contract with the school district was renewed. He is only one of two contracted SLP's in the district. I honestly won't allow him to work FOR the district because that means we get less pay, not as good benefits, and probably could not afford to live here and save anything. But anyway...
I started looking around at places early in the Summer for possible places to move but nothing really came up. Then a couple weeks ago we needed to look again so we could move before school starts up again end of August. I looked and looked, but nothing really that stood out. We went and saw some nice places that we liked but didn't love.
Then this past Saturday Gabe looked on Craigslist again and there was a posting for a rental near by, but back in CV3 ward, which I am happy about, and he is too. We went and saw it and after we had walked through it and came back out to the front yard to talk to the real estate agent who was showing the property, I turned to Gabe and said, "I want this place." "So do I," Gabe said back to me. Finally, the first one we both loved and agreed on.
Its on a court and in a good neighborhood, around the corner from a couple of my girl friends in the ward! I am soo excited about that! No more apartment, at least for a while.
It has 3 bedrooms that are ok size, a living room which is rather small, but I can live with that because it has an attached garage AND a good sized backyard that we have gotten permission to have a garden, sometime, in. Woohoooo!! The kitchen, well its like an apartment kitchen, small and the necessities but the hard wood dining area is rather large and I love it! It has one bath, which is a shame but its a large bathroom. One side has a stall shower and then the vanity in the middle, and then a bath tub on the other side. Its actually a nice little floor plan if you are going to have only one bathroom. So there is it, 3 bedroom, 1 bath, living room, laaaarge dining area, kitchen, attached garage and a lovely backyard that Sydney can play around in and I can sit out in the sun and watch her. You can tell we are VERY excited about this right!?
And the rent is within our budget. We actually won't be spending much more than we were for our 2 bedroom apartment. And this place pays for our water. Bring on the garden! Mom and Dad are also going to let us borrow their washer and dryer cuz there are hookups here. So that will even save us a little bit on getting quarter each month for laundry. And, again, they pay for our water, so I can do laundry more than once a week!
This is the front of the new place. (I blurred out the address and stuff, in case you were wondering.)

It is attached to one other "cottage" as they call it, and it is at the end of a court where there are 12 "cottages" in all. (I sat and figured to myself, who ever owns all the cottages, because they are all owned  by one person, whoever he is, is making bank every month. Holy Cannoli! No wonder he has a real estate agency handle renting it out for him!)

Hopefully we will be here for several years and wont have to move for a while. We are hoping that with all the budget cuts here in California that the state doesn't tell all the districts to get rid of all outside contracts. And that could happen, unfortunately. It is alot cheaper to just have district employees only and no contractors like Gabe. So we are praying and crossing our fingers that this doesn't happen, at least for a couple years. Gabe is very valued at the schools he works at because he is bilingual and the only bilingual SLPs in the entire district ARE the two contracted SLPs. Hoping that is enough to keep him there for a long time.

I'll post pictures after the move!

Awesome! So exciting! I think I know where these places are. I have a friend that lives in one of them. And it's funny cause as long as I've lived here, I never knew those "cottages" were back there. They are nice. I'm a little jealous! Can't beat that in this area! Congrats top both that, and the baby girl! So exciting!
