6 and 3/4 Months Old

Today Sydney had her "6 Month Checkup" appointment. She got her Combo shot and Rotivirus vaccine. She is now at the age where they start giving flu shots to children but since the only option this year for babies in the combo of flu and H1N1, we are not going to have Sydney get it. She was weighed and she is 18 lbs 2 oz. She is 26 1/2 inches long and in the 75-90 percentile for both. Sydney is now holding her own bottle. All I have to do is just lie her down and hand her the bottle an away she goes. She can now eat anything that we can eat except honey, eggs, shellfish, nuts, and milk, but she can have cheese and yoghurt. Its really nice to be able to get ready in the mornings and have her feed herself on the floor next to me. Such a time saver!
Babies have to stay rear-facing in the car until they are one year old, but we can now purchase a car seat probably within the next two months that will face both directions. We're hoping to find one that will go from 20-60 lbs and be able to convert from facing back to front without too much trouble. I gave Sydney a little piece of cheese but she made her "I don't like this face" and spit it out. Same with the little piece of a Banana Muffin I gave her. Well, its only been the first day, so we'll keep trying.

She's getting so big! It's so much fun to start intorducing them to new food too! So exciting!
Also, they have carseats that go from 20-100 lbs that is rear-facing, then forward, then turns into a booster. Those are the best cause then you won't have to buy another one untill you have another baby that gets into that kind of seat!
