Sophie's Blessing Day

Sophie was blessed today by Gabe. Dad was in the circle along with the Bishop and the missionaries. I can't remember the last time I saw missionaries in the circle to bless a baby so it was nice of Gabe to invite them. Lisa and Melissa came up for the blessing. Sydney has been having a blast playing with Bruce and having someone to play with who is on her level. They were chasing each other all afternoon. Sydney, after having a small tantrum because she was sooooo tired, is now asleep. Sound asleep.

My sister Brigitte made an adorable white headband for Sophie for the blessing, but for some odd reason and fault of the postal service, it didn't get here in time, so I ran down to KMart and looked to see if there wasn't something I could use to make a cute headband for Sophie to wear today. And I made this last night...

I think it turned out really cute! And it only took about ten minutes to make.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get a little photo shoot of Sophie. I feel like I took a ton more pictures of Sydney and I am not getting the time to take as many of Sophie. Hopefully I will at least get to do monthly photos of her like I did for Sydney.

In the blessing itself, Sophie was blessed that she would be an example, a leader and a defender of the revealed truths of the gospel. She was blessed that her mind and heart would expand as she lived and followed gospel principles. She was blessed that she would gain much knowledge in this life. She was blessed that she would receive all the ordinances and blessings available to her. She was blessed that she would learn from those who came before her and be teachable.
