101 Posts!

This is my 101st post on here. Doesn't seem like a lot but when you think of it as a post every three to four days for an entire year it starts to seem like more.
Little update about what is going on at the Keogan Household:
Gabe turns 29 this coming Labor Day, September 6th! I know, he probably won't be happy that I mentioned his age but he doesn't seem to care about dying his hair to cover up the white, so maybe he won't be too upset about it. He certainly doesn't look it. I hear often from him how he sees other guys his age in our ward and thinks how much older they look and is surprised that he is actually the same age as these guys. I don't know what to say. He looks great to me! =D Gabe started up work again and just finished his second week back in the routine of Speech Therapy at two elementary schools. He helps many children who come from more humble circumstances and speak mostly spanish. He has a larger case load than last school year with 66 kids. They are getting another SLP soon to help with the ever growing amount of kids who need help. Gabe is still teaching the Valiant 9's at church and I think he enjoys it. He was telling me about one of the kids in his class who reads his scriptures twice a day and listens to Primary songs before bed, all on his own. Impressive kids. How many of us can say that we did that when we were 8?
Sydney is growing and growing. She turns 6 months old on the 10th. For some reason 6 months seems like a much larger milestone than the regular month to month, kind of like when they hit 1 year old. It just seems like time is flying and I miss the times where she loved to cuddle with her mom. She is doing a ton of the "swimming" when she is on her tummy and I am excited for her to start getting up on her hands and knees. Not so ready for the crawling part though, but we have got a little more time for that, thankfully. She loves eating all sorts of foods now. We give her Peas, Plums, Pears, Nectarines, Applesauce, she loves to lick grapes and watches us when we eat hoping that we'll give her some. She tried the rice cereal but didn't like it, so when she hits 6 months and can start eating foods twice a day, I'll get her back on the rice cereal. Her hair has gotten long enough in the front so that I can now clip it back with those little baby hair clips! I love it! Something besides headbands finally, which seem to be going around everywhere now. I am trying to make her a few jumpers with my sewing machine, we'll see how they turn out.
Me ... I am just loving being at home and taking care of things here while Gabe is at work. I think I am past the worst of this flu virus I got and I can't wait to have a little more energy back and my hearing back to normal. Seriously, having your ears plugged for three days is no picnic. I think I've gone through a whole pack of gum with no luck and plugging my nose and blowing out slightly just makes it worse. Crossing my fingers that once the congestion is over and done with that it will just take care of itself. I guess the one good thing about it is that when Sydney is crying it doesn't seem that loud! ;)
