Utah Trip

These past two weeks have been the longest that I can remember, seriously. I left with my dad and Sydney on the 7th, driving from Concord to Saratoga Springs on a Monday. Tuesday, my dad, all my sisters and I drove from Saratoga Springs to Pocatello for my Grandfather's graveside service. It was a lovely service and my dad conducted most of it. The stories people shared were wonderful as well. Then my dad spoke of the Atonement and ended the service with the dedicatory prayer. We all went to lunch at the Golden Corral with my grandmother, aunts and their families, plus a few friends of my grandparents. The drive back to Saratoga Springs was fun and Sydney had a good time being outside during the service. She slept most of the way back to Utah. My dad left to go back to California on Wednesday and I stayed with my sisters at Brigitte's house. It was a fun couple of days relaxing for the most part, although Sydney schedule was a little thrown off by being away from home so she was a little more fussy than usual. Friday we all departed for the Cabin we stayed at for the Keddington Family Reunion. We had a couple stops along the way because my sister's little girl had a few accidents in the car. I think she might have gotten a little carsick or stressed from all the driving she had done in the past week. Here's Lisa helping to get Mariah cleaned up while Shelley cleaned the car. Poor girl. It was freezing out there. All better now! Mariah kept saying the whole time Lisa was cleaning her up that she wanted to take a shower.
When we finally got the cabin, I walked in and was amazed at what a wonderful place it was. It was seriously better than any hotel I had ever stayed at and it had soo much space. Even though it was Gabe's and my anniversary weekend, I let Shelley have the master bedroom since it had a big tub for the kids to take a bath in. Logan was off playing right when we walked in and I put Sydney down for a nap straight away. Here are a few pictures of the place.
Early Saturday morning around 4 am, Shelley, Mom, myself, and Sydney (since she was hungry) were all up waiting for Steve and Gabe to arrive. Both were traveling through the night on little sleep to get to the cabin. Plus Shelley had heard a mouse getting into Brigitte's Cheddere cheesed chips, which had to be thrown away. Steve arrived a little later that morning and Gabe finally arrive, to my excitement and relief, a little before 1pm.
That night was the big family BBQ and we all wore our Family Reunion T-Shirts. The women's shirts all had the name Keddington written on the front in a creative way and the men's all said Men of Kedd (I laughed at the when I saw it) over a crest sort of thing. They were rather silly in my opinion but I guess they were better than the design I had done for the t-shirts.
(I did this one)

After the reunion Gabe, Sydney, and I headed back to Brigitte's for the rest of the week and we met up with a few friends for lunch at Zupas in Provo. We went to Tucanos in Provo on Thursday night for our Anniversary dinner although our whole family was there with us. Friday night we went to a BBQ at the Malan's home and it was soo much fun! Natalie even made Sydney a little headband. Its soo darling! Gabe got me a sewing machine a few weeks ago for our anniversary and I can't wait to whip up some cute things for Syndey on it!
Southern Utah, although very dry, has very beautiful scenic views. We took a couple on the dry back to Brigitte's and on the way home to California.

An oddly shaped cloud. UFO anyone?

And the coolest looking one I think.

Happy Anniversary to you both! I am glad you had such a great time. The pictures are beautiful, especially the lenticular cloud. We never have any of those around here.
