My First Mother's Day

Tomorrow Sydney will be two months old. How time flies by us all. I look at pictures of when Sydney was a newborn and it amazes me how much she has grown in such short a time. Here she is a few days old. How small she was then.
Some of the milestones, especially pertaining to speech, since that is an expertise around here =P, are:
Stage 1 (birth to 2 months)
Vocalization Types

-Crying with sudden pitch shifts, extremely high pitch
-Fussing or discomfort
-Vegetative sounds (burps, sounds accompanying feeding)
-Neutral sounds (grunts, sighs)
-Vowel-like sounds: (i, I, e, ^, u, U,o, a)
She has done soo well and has done all of these really early on.
Stage 2 (2-4 months)
-Vowel sounds predominate, but a few consonants emerge
(primarily velars and glottals)
-Marked decrease in crying (after 12 weeks)
-Begins consonant plus vowel; mostly "coo" and "goo"
-Begins to produce pleasure sounds, such as "mmmmmmm"

I think Sydney has hit even all her milestones for 2-4 months already! She is such a smart little girl. She recognizes, at least me, her mommy, and knows its me when I speak. She is such a happy baby and does not cry all that much anymore.
I am loving being a mother. Sydney has brought soo much happiness into our home.
