Feeling A Little Blah...

We have our first prenatal check up on wednesday!! Woohoo! I have already had all the lab work done and they all came back normal. Maybe we'll get a first peek at the little critter and get to hear the heartbeat.
Let me tell ya, I have been told time and time again about how pregnancy is so wonderful and fun. Well someone lied to me big time, lol, ok cuz it ain't! Nausea, morning sickness, food aversions, to foods I LOVE and then when i suddenly think it looks good, then it looks horrible and I never want to see it again... and then the next day I want it again.
The doctor I work for thinks I could be hypoglycemic so he suggested that I go get my favorite hard candies and pop ons of those in my mouth when I get up in the morning. Gabe and I went to the store and bought two bags of Jolly Ranchers and they have seems to help somewhat... accept the times when they sound gross.
I can't wait til the second trimester when it is supposed to be fun! Maybe if I shopping I might feel better :P
Gabe and I went and helped at the YSA CA Conference in Oakland on Saturday night for their dinner. We served the dessert, which sounds good right now, but looked gross then. It was a bunch of cake and the dinner was catered. Alot of members showed up to help, my parents included. We had people serving the dinner, serving the dessert, replenishing what ran out, making sure the kids were walking in the right direction so we wouldn't have a traffic jam, and somehow we got 1700 YSA's through the lines and fed. Gabe and I thought it was funny that all the other couples helping at the dessert tables were constantly cutting cake and maiking sure that their table was always full with plates of cake. We thought "we really don't need to cut anymore cake until half the plates are gone". So while all the others were hurrying around franctically making sure there wasn't an empty spot on their table, we sat back and relaxed. Then one of the other adults came over and started filling up our table, when there was plenty, so I said, "we're just going to cut some more when there are little less on the table, so we don't cut too much and have extra."
By the end of the dinner, our table was pretty empty and everyone else's... pretty much full. What to do with ALL that extra cake. Well at least we were able to take home a full tray each of chicken and rice and cheese. There was a lot of extra food. I just wish I had been in the mood for that cake... it looked good. But after that dinner, I don't ever want mexican food again!
